Anyone who knows me knows I am an absolute, unequivocal, die-hard, true blooded, water baby! I love all that is beach, lake, river or water. But…I am fickle and my heart lies torn. Because…there is Blue Ridge.
Blue Ridge is a quaint little Georgia mountain town that time has forgotten. Life is slow and easy. When thinking of the perfect destination for this weekend’s impromptu get-away, there was only one choice. We loaded the truck, booked the Dane reservations of her own at Pampered Pet Care, and just that quick we were headed for the mountains in Blue Ridge.
We were very fortunate to call a fantastic cabin, Amazing Grace, home for the weekend. The view from the kitchen and living room was just spectacular!
We settled in for the night grilling filet mignons and Chilean Sea Bass from The Butcher’s Market in Woodstock. We also had a beautiful bottle of Joel Gott Cabernet, (as he is my latest wine crush), a plate of breads, meats and cheeses and… YUM! Put all of that in front of a nice outdoor fire and we were in Blue Ridge heaven!
We awoke bright and early Saturday morning and headed to the Blue Ridge Beer, BBQ and Blues Festival. What a great time! What goes better with BBQ than beer, blues and shopping? We had a full day of all three! I know it is an age old debate, but you simply CANNOT get better BBQ than the east coast baby! Ours comes with cole slaw, Jalapeno beans and Brunswick Stew and not nary a bit dry!
Dessert consisted of these…LOL!
…and this Chai Tea Latte!
…from this super cute grocery & cafe.
As if the perfect day could get any better, I managed a new Nicole Lee handbag and some AH-MAZING oils and vinegars from Blue Ridge Olive Oil Company. OMG. Just O.M.G. SWEET! My infused olive oil selections included Italian Coratina, a Tuscan blend and a Blood Orange. My balsamic choices this time were Dark Chocolate, Persian Lime and an incredible honey-ginger. I am in love, the head over heels kind. I could live in that store. Permanently. As in forever.
We made it back to the cabin just in time for some appetizers, college football of the Carolina Gamecock persuasion, and a few games of pool with Hass in between.
As all good things come to an end, Sunday morning it was time to head back to the Hassienda. Until next time Blue Ridge…as always, it was a BLAST!!!
