The Pizzaioli at Campania treat each pizza they create as a journey to the origin of pizza.

I consider myself a pizza conniseur, and Campania is the best I’ve had. The detail that goes into their pizza is stellar.

Campania uses traditional double zero flour, natural yeast and sea salt. Only imported San Marzano tomatoes are used for their homemade Pomodoro sauce and authentic, imported Italian meats and cheeses such as, Calabrese salami, Parma Cotto, Prosciutto di Parma, Italian sausage, Mozzarella di Bufala, Fontina, Provolone, and Parmigiano Reggiano are featured.

Their unique hand-made oven is the star of the show at Campania. Made from bricks of volcanic soil from the Mt. Vesuvius region and created in Naples by master mason Stefano Ferrara, it is a masterpiece.

Recommendations from The Porch: The Sophia Pizza and the Charcuterie Board.

In some ancient cultures, salt was a rare commodity that was given to guests as a sign of hospitality and friendship; eating salt under someone’s roof created a bond of obligation between a guest and host.

Small plates are a personal favorite, and no one does them better than Saltyard. There are always so many fabulous options to choose from, and small plates afford you the ability to try as many things on the menu as you like.

With the exposed rafters, sun–bleached reclaimed wood, and open kitchen, Saltyard presents a casual but ambient atmosphere that always offers an evening of good food and relaxation with friends and family.

Saltyard’s philosophy is spot on: “No pretention here, we serve delicious and that’s all that counts.”
