As of September 22, summer 2016 was officially in the books. “Funny How Time Slips Away”.  😦

I always have mixed emotions during the change of seasons. Like most, I adore the fun, “Sunshine”, and frivolity of summertime. …especially in Atlanta! I can often be found floating on a raft at one of the many gorgeous lakes or rivers, picnicking at one of the lush, green parks, enjoying an al fresco dinner on one of the many spectacular outdoor restaurant patios, or cooling off with a few margaritas at an outdoor concert.

Helllooooo Atlanta music scene! Atlanta has truly incredible venues for concerts and no matter your taste in music, there’s something for everyone, and “It’s the Sweetest Thing”.

Knowing the season was coming to an end, sweet boy and I decided to enjoy our last few days rocking the night away. Technically, YACHT rocking the night away at the Yacht Rock Revival hosted by Atlanta’s foremost music authorities in yacht rock, and one of our all time favorite bands, Yacht Rock Revue! Musical guests included Juice Newton, Ambrosia, Player, Stephen Bishop, Robbie Dupree and the final farewell performance of Starbuck. The revival was held at the ultra awesome Park Tavern in Piedmont Park.

I can’t even begin to tell you “How Much I Feel” about saying goodbye to summer. I want to shout “Baby Come back!” It’s like “I Just Can’t Let Go”! Sometimes I think “It’s the Biggest Part of Me“  🙂

STK Atlanta

You can’t have a great night without starting at the beginning. We began our Farewell to Summer in Atlanta at STK for cocktails and appetizers.

STK Atlanta is not your daddy’s steakhouse, so don’t expect to find antiques on the walls or a stuffy, old-fashioned atmosphere. Located in the heart of bustling Midtown, we’re a modern, chic steakhouse for anyone who finds the traditional American steakhouse a tad on the boring side.

The vibe in STK is truly unique. The decor is chic, while keeping the feel of a classic, upscale steakhouse.

We began with two STK signature cocktails. I indulged in The Skinny Dipper that was a fresh and flavorful combination of Grey Goose, St. Germain, muddled blueberries, mint, aloe vera juice and lemon bitters. With so many healthy and rehydrating ingredients, it was the perfect summer cocktail. So good in fact, we asked STK for the recipe! They were generous to provide it for us and for you to try at home!

The Skinny Dipper by STK Atlanta

1.5 oz of Grey Goose
.5 oz of St. Germain
1 oz Aloe Vera Juice
.5 oz lemon
.5 oz simple syrup
3 muddled mint leaves and 5 blueberries

Along with our cocktails, STK provided samples of their Cocktail Hour treats! These are available for only $5 EACH! That’s what I call a super score!

STK Mini Lobster Roll

FULL of fresh lobster and flavor!

Buffalo Quail Legs

Outrageously delicious with a traditional buffalo wing flavor! The blue cheese and shaved celery were the perfect accent.

Braised Beef Short Ribs

This was my favorite dish of the evening. Those White Cheddar GRITS are to die for!

Candied Bacon

No words needed.

STK’s Bag ‘O Donuts

We missed out on the Crispy Pimento Cheese to make room for dessert; take out Bag ‘O Donuts. Wow. These little gems were perfect pre-concert AND post-concert!

If donuts aren’t your thing (WHY???), there are plenty of other treats to cure a sweet tooth compliments of the amazing Pastry Chef, Abbie White.

We want you to mingle and have fun. Say hello to your table neighbors. Dance to the DJ and then hydrate with a cocktail or two. At STK Atlanta, you’ll get more than a great culinary experience… You’ll get the perfect night out. ~ STK
