On Sunday, sweet Hass and I decided to take a break from reality and take a bite of South America at Vino Venue in Atlanta. This was so…much…fun!

The venue is beautiful with a vast selection of wines from around the world. You’re sure to find a great wine for anyone as well as special and unique wines for hosted events or the perfect bottle for a romantic dinner for two.

For this event, we were anxiously anticipating wine tastings from Chile, Argentina and Uruguay as well as samplings of South American “Soul food” such as steak chimichurri, traditional Brazilian churrascaria meats, escabeche, Italian & Spanish cheeses, empanadas, and grilled vegetables.

While I was excited to taste the wines, Hass was fixated on Mr. Walter and his protein loaded grill shown below. We loved Mr. Walter and I definitely married a carnivore y’all. Can you blame him? Just LOOK at that Sirloin!

Sweet boy wasn’t the only one enjoying the grill.

fun times

We had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful family all the way from Peru.

Then…came the wine. We were thrilled to taste wines like Malbec, Torrontes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenere, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

…followed by a little cheese. Do you see the Manchego? …that little glimmering morsel of sheer heaven and one of my all time favorites. The suggested wine and cheese pairings were fantastic.

We enjoyed a nice Pinot Noir and Viognier.

Note: If you haven’t spent an evening in a warm bubble bath with a chunk of dark chocolate and red wine, you have not lived life to the fullest.
