Lawd have mercy how did I overlook NATIONAL TEQUILA DAY this morning??? HOW did YOU let me overlook this??? What in the world is going on George?

Now that we are in our right minds, let’s talk Tequila. I have friends who prefer Don Julio and some who prefer Patron. Sweet Hass and I are 1800 Reposado fans. Yes, indeed!

I love her.

She is a wild child of tequila and can sneak up on you like no other, so you’ve been warned 😉 But…she makes an oh so fabulous Margarita!

Pineapple, Cilantro & Jalapeno Margarita

  • 1 ounce 1800 Reposado or your favorite tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Triple Sec or Grand Mariner
  • 1 jalapeno, muddled
  • 5 or 6 sprigs of Cilantro
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • zest from one lime

Directions:

Add all ingredients to blender and process well. You can also add all ingredients to a shaker, shake well, and serve over ice in Margarita salt rimmed glass.

Ice Cream

This would be sweet Hass ^, and that deliciousness in the ice cream canister would be my Margarita Ice Cream. As you can see, it was gone before I could take a photo, or really even put it in a cone or bowl. So that photo will just have to suffice. The struggles of a food blogger are real y’all.

Margarita Ice Cream

1 cup lime juice

4 tbsp. tequila

6 tbsp. Grand Mariner

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

4 cups heavy cream

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a mixer and blend well. Pour into ice cream canister and churn according to manufacturer’s directions using the ice cream rock salt & ice.

Above photo borrowed from Babble.com as again, my product was devoured pre-photo. Life is too short to eat food or drink bad booze y’all 😉
