Turning Tamales Into Nachos. Well doesn’t THAT sound like a novel idea!
After our raid of the Marietta Farmer’s Market over the weekend, one of our favorite finds were the fresh tamales. We purchased both the Chorizo and Chicken and Jalapeno varieties. They were so good! And so big! For two people our eyes were a little larger than our tummies.
BUT! Never fear! Where there are leftover tamales, there are future nachos!
Tamale Nachos
Ingredients
2 leftover or fresh tamales – crumbled
2 handfuls tortilla chips
1/2 cup queso cheese – melted
Your favorite salsa or pico (My recipe for avocado and cilantro salsa is published in this blog)
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1/4 cup grated cheddar or Monterrey Jack cheese
Directions:
Place chips on a serving plate. Top with melted queso, then crumbled tamales, salsa, olives and grated cheese.
I like easy.
Bon appetit y’all!
